D camp is a pony club activity that is unique to our club. We are blessed with talented and motivated parents and C's who put on a fun and instructional camp for our D members. D camp instills in our young members a sense of belonging to Seneca Valley Pony Club and, importantly, a connection with Bittersweet Field. These D's are the future of our club and the future of the beauty and integrity of Bittersweet Field. D camp, like all pony club activities, is entirely non-profit, staffed and organized by our parents and pony clubbers. We have trained instructors for lessons every day to help our kids meet the standards for riding and horse management as outlined by the USPC standards for ratings. D camp is an essential element of the give back and mentoring policies that are integral to pony club. Our older members are required to teach D pony clubbers, in both unmounted and mounted lesson programs, in order to attain their upper ratings. D Camp provides them with D pony clubbers to teach. And the D's get invaluable mentoring, lessons to the standards and fun with their friends and ponies. Pony club is, in essence, an educational organization.
