Rally Forms

This year’s regional rally will be held at Carroll County Equestrian Center north of Mt Airy.  The SVPC version of the rally form is available here.  They are due back to Nancy Jones by April 14th so that they can go to the region the next week. 

Team assignments will be made at the April 7 practice.

Weight Limitations

• Any rider over 117 pounds in weight may not ride a pony 2.2 hands or under.

• Any rider over 150 pounds in weight may not ride a pony 13.2 hands or under.

• Any rider over 190 pounds in weight may not ride a pony 14.2 hands or under.

Divisions

  1. WALK-TROT: 2 riders that must be 9 years of age or less as of January 1 2008. See Section II, Chapter 3, Walk Trot Division, for Special Rules for Competition for this division.
  2. JUNIOR TEAM: Four or five riders that must be 13 years of age or less as of January 1, 2008. (and for Championships, at least 10 years of age and a D-2 rating).
  3. SENIOR TEAM: Four or five riders that must be 17 years of age or less as of January 1 2008. The age was raised from 16 to 17 for 2008. (and for Championships at least 10 years of age and a D-3 rating).
  4. ADVANCE TEAM: No advanced at nationals 2008. Don’t know status of advanced at region competition.

CHAMPIONSHIPS QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Pony Club members who wish to compete at this year’s Pony Club Championships in Lexington, Virginia should qualify by the rules set forth in the USPC Games Rule book 2006, with the following changes and clarifications: They must qualify, as a team, at their qualifying regional rally. The winning team will be representing their region at Cham pion ships. This year, there will be a Junior Division, made up of members who competed and qualified at their regional rally with a minimum rating of D-2 and be between 10 and 13 years of age as of January 1, 2008. There will be a Senior Division , made up of members who competed and qualified at their regional rally with a minimum rating of D-3 and also be 17 years of age or less as of January 1, 2008. There will be no Advanced Division.

ATTIRE

The rules set forth in the Annual Games Newsletter of 2007 will be continued in 2008 with the following changes and clarifications: Articles 5 and 6 (Dress and Pinnies) in the USPC Games Handbook may still be followed. Alternatively, the team may supply Collared shirts of any pattern or color with long or short sleeves (such as polo or rugby shirts or soccer jerseys) with 6” numbers on back and front. The same shirt design must be worn at all times while on the competition grounds each day by all team members.

Arm bands which include medical releases, as well as the competitor’s name, region, rating, discipline, team, chaperone name, and chaperone cell phone number, will be worn at all times while on the competition grounds as set forth by the USPC Activities Council for all disciplines.
